Experian uses two services to promote their credit monitoring services: Experian Triple advantage and freecreditreport.com. I was contacted by my bank in 2008 that their system was hacked and they would pay for credit monitoring services through Experian Triple advantage. The bank paid for 2 years of service which I took advantage. September 2010 I was notified it was time for me to renew my Experian Triple advantage account which I did for one lump sum for one year from my credit card. Well guess what I found on my credit card statement charges to "info experiandirect com". I call My 1-800 Experian Triple advantage account and ask them WTF! They confirm my lump sum payment and could see the monthly charge from "info experiandirect com" and that it was from freecreditreport.com. I asked the phone rep WTF! he said I will tranfer you to freecreditreport.com. Experian Triple advantage had to transfer my info to freecreditreport.com because I had never been to their site nor even recieved a spam mail from them. Long Story short freecreditreport did close the account and are refunding my money.
