This Company Will Steal from You
|
Experian provides credit reporting services and protection against fraudulent charges and identity theft. When you sign up for their one dollar credit report they sign you up for a service at $17.95 per month without telling you. When you call to cancel they say they cannot give you a refund even if you have never logged onto their website. After you cancel, you will still receive e-mails. This indicates that your account is still open and that they are still holding all of the private information that you provided to them.
The Better Business Bureau is just as bad. It allows you to make a complaint. However, when you look at their rating for Experian it is "A+". This is despite the fact they have a red "ALERT" against the company pending because of the shady practices by five of its subsidiaries. Even with 5000 complaints, the BBB insists on giving it an A+ rating. I will be surprised if this website does not change this review into a positive review, since it is part of the BBB.
they first began taking money out of my bank account without my permission in March 2012 and I just got an e-mail today affirming that they are continuing to do so. They have refused to refund the first $17.95 they stole from me. I have no assurances that they will not repeat this conduct. It is ironic that a company who services to protect consumers from just this kind of conduct engages in it on a massive scale. If 5000 people make complaints, how many people got ripped off and didn't bother making a BBB complaint? 50,000? That would be one in 10. Sounds right to me.
